Snapchat to take on TikTok by allowing the users to add musical snaps

According to reports, Snapchat has decided to add a new feature to its app. It allows the users to add background music to their videos when they record and send it.

With TikTok facing massive inspection in the major markets of the world, Snapchat decided to come up with this new feature.  Making it the latest social media platform to give competition to TikTok. Snapchat has signed deals with Warner Music Group, Warner Chappell, NMPA publisher members, Merlin and Universal Music Publishing Group.

Ban on TikTok:

\Tiktok has been banned in India along with other 58 Chinese apps. Also, the president of the US, Donald Trump, is threatening to take down the app due to major secrecy concerns.

TikTok has to close a deal with Microsoft within 45days. The new feature of Snapchat will be tested in Australia and New Zealand. They may launch to the other parts of the world by the end of this year.

The upcoming new feature of Snapchat will allow the users to add music to their snap before or after recording the video.

Everything you need to know about the new update:

As per the report of TechCrunch, the users can choose from a robust record of music. When the person receives this video snap, they will be able to access the name, artist, and album page of the music just by swiping up.

Later, they will be provided with the link of the song. So that they can be directed to the web page and play afterwards. This song can be heard on different music platforms such as Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Spotify. It will be the sole decision of the user.

Even though Snapchat has tried to add the feature of Tiktok in its app, both the apps are poles apart.

When the users click on a video in Tiktok, they are taken to a different page where other clips are featured having the same sound.

But Snapchat users will not have access to this feature where they can see a feed of videos or any other way where the users can access videos of the same song.

Tiktok allowed the users to lip-sync and remix the videos by adding music to videos. This feature will not be available on Snapchat.

This feature is yet to be launched in India. After TikTok was banned in India, Instagram came out with Reels and had been trying to take over the TikTok market in India.
