The nomination was first submitted by a four-term member of the Norwegian parliament for the far-right Progress Party, Christian Tybring- Gjedde, who is also the chairman of Norwegian delegation. He nominated Trump for his efforts to create new dynamics in other protracted conflicts.

UAE-Israel Peace Deal!

On September 8, a United States official said that Israel and the United Arab Emirates will sign a US-brokered agreement that helps in normalizing their relations at the White House on September 5.

Donald Trump has been nominated weeks after he helped broker peace between Israel and The United Arab Emirates to normalize ties between UAE and Israel. As per this agreement, both the countries have committed to the exchange of embassies and ambassadors, and also agreed to begin cooperation in many fields including education, healthcare, trade and security.

In over 26 years, this agreement is the first such an agreement between Israel and a major Arab country. Since the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty, which was signed on October 26, 1994, the United Arab Emirates is observed as the first major Arab country to recognize Israel.

As per Fox News, the United States’ President Donald Trump’s name has been forwarded by a Norwegian politician – Christian Tybring-Gjedde. Tybring-Gjedde told Fox News that Trump’s name had been taken for trying to create peace between nations compared to the other Peace Prize nominees.

According to some reports, Tybring-Gjedde had already submitted a nomination for Nobel Peace Prize for Donald Trump in 2018 for his Singapore summit. Tybring-Gjedde is a right-wing, anti-immigration lawmaker in Norway.

This agreement between the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Israel, which was made on August 13, 2020, is a significant move towards a more stable, integrated and prosperous the Middle East.

This agreement focuses on practical outcomes rather than traditional thinking about the way to address regional problems and challenges, which was the case earlier. Also, this accord is made to lessen existing conflicts and also to prevent disputes in the future.

On August 13, Donald Trump had announced this agreement, after 18 months of talks, to establish diplomatic ties and to stop the annexation of occupied land which was sought by the Palestinian. This agreement is expected to become a game-changer which helps the Middle East turn into a region of cooperation and prosperity.

A White House official on Tuesday said that Donald Trump will hold a signing ceremony on September 15 for the Middle East agreement.
